Workshop recommendation: an introduction to Indian weddings
This workshop will help managers and professionals of premium hotels in Central Europe not only to serve, but to truly understand this guest group that seeks experience and value.
The day on 5 June is an intensive, hands-on workshop with a focus on real-life situations and simulations, in addition to knowledge transfer.
And the June 6 dates will provide an opportunity for personalised consultation for those who want to work on specific development or sales issues to further build on what they have learned.
What participants will learn:
- Providing systematic, practical knowledge about the structure and expectations of Indian weddings
- Conscious development of cultural sensitivity and guest experience
- Building professional confidence in managing complex, multi-stage events
Cultural basics - India's diversity in ceremonies
Participants will gain insights into the symbolism, religious and regional differences of Indian weddings. The significance of Mehndi, Sangeet or Haldi ceremonies - and the timing, space and background work they require from a hotel.
Interactive exercise: 'Match the ritual to the ceremony'
Space and service - how does an Indian guest think?
Indian couples are often looking not just for a venue, but a setting for a traditional ceremony. The workshop will also discuss their expectations in terms of space, decoration, catering and flexibility.
Task: "Which space for which ceremony?" - Image analysis and professional discussion
Communication and decision-making - when it's not (just) the couple who decides
Participants will learn about family structures in India and how to communicate successfully and diplomatically with multiple decision-makers - while maintaining cultural sensitivity.
Exercise: role-playing 'when bidding' - simulating communication between hotel and family members
Learning from the practice of others - case study & expert panel
At the end of the programme, an experienced Indian wedding planner will guide you through a specific wedding in Hungary - showing you how to prepare and what pitfalls to avoid.
Group analysis: "What would we have done differently?"
At the end of the session, the participants:
- Gain a systemic picture of how Indian weddings work,
- Be able to develop culturally sensitive offers and services,
- negotiate more confidently with family and service providers,
- and know what infrastructure is needed to deliver an event of this scale.
This workshop is not a template training, but a professional immersion.
It offers knowledge that cannot be learned from books or briefs - only from practice and from each other.
EXTRA DAY - Personal professional consultation

The day after the workshop, you will have the opportunity for an individual, private consultation with the speaker, tailored to your hotel or venue. This session will give you the opportunity to immediately put what you have learned into practice - thinking together about service structure, space utilisation, bidding and concrete steps for cultural adaptation.
The consultation will focus, among others, on the following questions:
- What services and spaces can meet the needs of an Indian wedding?
- In which areas should improvements, adaptations or flexibility be introduced?
- How can a credible long-term presence in this market be achieved?
- What budgets, package logics and partnerships can lead to success?
